How did you meet your partner?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 22, 2008:
(Not in relationship now. tend to be quirkyalone (see quirkyalone book/website).)
It was an odd situation. I met them at work but knew I was moving in 6 months. So I asked them if they'd like to have me in their life for the next 6 months and to consider the alternative.
Happily they chose me, and we had a great time.
Having heard of handfasting for a year, it made sense to me.
Lately, I've had more trouble meeting folks since everyone works from home now and the IT work environment is so sparse socially. Ah well, if they're out there, maybe it's time for them to find me, for a change.

I looked up the quirkyalone website. It seems I have been looking for the exact word for it for some time now, and there it was all along.

Thank you for your comment. I’m glad to have helped you find the quirkyalones. I took their quiz and scored high on their scale. Knowing that others felt the same way made me feel much less weird and/or alone. And it’s an easy way to get into that discussion about needing space for creativity.
